Sales/Customer Service Assistant

The Fire Basket is a family business that has been established for over 32 years selling fires, fireplaces, woodburning stoves and accessories in Fishponds.  We have steadily grown to the largest retailer of fireplaces and related products in Bristol.  We specialise in finding the right product for every customer whether that is a completely bespoke custom made design or an affordable fireplace to suit a smaller budget.  

About the Role 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and cheerful individual to join us.  You will be working as part of a tight knit team with the potential to progress and take on more responsibility within the company. 

The job involves: -

  • greeting customers and showing them the products, 
  • answering their queries, making sales, 
  • some general admin, 
  • answering phone calls, 
  • liaising with the directors about their diaries, 
  • providing excellent follow up customer service. 
  • helping to take in deliveries 

5 days a week 37 hours (9.30am -5.00pm) including Saturday (9am-4.30pm).

 Essential Qualities

  • Must be enthusiastic and flexible.
  • Be able to provide excellent customer service.
  • Confident on the telephone.
  • Computer literate (preferably experience working on Apple Macs).
  • Previous sales experience.
  • Able to do lifting when needed. 
  • Good organisational skills.

Desirable Qualities 

  • Knowledge of the industry/products.
  • Knowledge of fireplace installation


  • Salary dependent on experience
