October 9th, 2015

It happens slowly doesn't it?  The odd mention here and there, a reference to what is about to come.  Then suddenly you hear it said everyday.  Official plans start to be put in place.  That's right the "C Word" has been thrown about a few times here already to today and I expect not for the last time.

Christmas seems to divide people into two categories - you are either Ebenezer Scrooge rolling your eyes wondering what the fuss is about or Will Ferrell in Elf unable to contain your excitement, practically skipping everywhere.  I'm definitely an "Elf", I love everything about Christmas and start planning and shopping in October.  I made quilted stockings for our family last Christmas and I am hoping to make some to decorate the shop with this year.

I think its fair to say that Christmas and fireplaces go together like Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows, you can have one without the other but together - wow what a treat!  It is our busiest time of year and everyone has the same question: Will my fire be in and ready to use before Christmas?  I'm happy to say currently we are able to say "yes" but in just a few short weeks we will be sadly shaking our heads.  But don't worry though, just think how lovely it will be next Christmas and if we have a snowy January again - you will be very glad of a warm fire to sit in front of when you come home.
